MYTIVIFLIX – Private IPTV in 4K - Live TV and Sport Without the Snooping

MAG and Formuler Boxes: Portal and MyTVOnline Setup

Infomir MAG units and Formuler boxes are built for IPTV and very little else, which is precisely why they are pleasant to live with: no app store clutter, no advertising layer on the home screen, and a remote designed around a channel guide. They also work differently from apps. A MAG does not use a username and password at all; it is recognised by its MAC address, which we authorise on a portal. Formuler boxes use MyTVOnline and accept either a portal or an Xtream login. Because the MAC effectively is your login on a MAG, it deserves the same discretion as a password.

Have these ready first

  • A MAG 3xx, 4xx or 5xx series box, or a Formuler Z8, Z10 or Z11 model
  • The MAC address from the label underneath or the device information screen
  • The portal URL we send once your MAC has been activated
  • An Ethernet cable, if the router is within reach
  • A parental PIN of your own choosing

Still without a login? The free 24-hour trial needs a WhatsApp number and no card, or you can compare the plans.

Installing and signing in

  1. Find the MAC address

The MAC is printed on the label on the underside of the box and also shown in the settings under About or device information. MAG addresses begin with 00:1A:79. Send it to support in your private WhatsApp chat, never in a group, forum or public comment, and wait for us to confirm activation before moving on.

  2. MAG: add the portal address

Open Settings, System settings, Servers, Portals. Give Portal 1 any name, enter the portal URL we sent, save, and restart the box. The portal does not load until after that restart, so do not worry if nothing changes when you press save.

  3. MAG: change the parental password

Once the portal loads, its own settings menu includes a parental password used to lock channel groups, commonly 0000 until someone changes it. Set your own code. On a shared television that keeps locked groups locked, and it stops a curious guest from undoing your restrictions with the default number.

  4. Formuler: open MyTVOnline

Launch MyTVOnline 2 or MyTVOnline 3 and choose Add Portal, supplying a name and the portal URL. Alternatively pick the Xtream Codes option and use a standard username and password. Formuler boxes run Android underneath, so you can install players such as TiViMate if you prefer their interface.

  5. Formuler: keep the Android side tidy

Because Formuler is Android underneath, check the list of installed apps occasionally and remove anything you did not add on purpose. Install only from the built-in store or links you trust, and leave installs from unknown sources switched off when you are not actively using them.

  6. Wire it up and watch

After the restart the box loads your 25,000+ channels with its built-in guide. A wired Ethernet connection suits these boxes well and avoids Wi-Fi dropouts during long matches. Use the coloured buttons on the remote for favourites and the EPG.

  7. Clear out old portal entries

If the box came second-hand or was used with another service, look through the Portals list for leftover entries and delete them. Old addresses belong to someone else's history, have no reason to stay on your box, and can confuse the startup screen.

  8. Keep the firmware current

MAG boxes check for firmware from their system settings, and Formuler provides its own update tool. Updates fix playback bugs and security issues alike. Check every few months, and only install firmware offered by the box itself or the manufacturer website.

Known problems and what fixes them

The portal shows STB blocked or stays blank

Either activation has not finished yet, or a character in the MAC was mistyped when it was sent. Send a clear photo of the label in your private chat so we can compare, and we will correct it quickly in almost every case.

The guide is shifted by an hour or more

Programme data depends on the device clock. Check the time zone and time settings on the box, set it to fetch time automatically from the network, restart, and the guide will line up again.

MyTVOnline loads the portal and then freezes

Clear the MyTVOnline data from the Android app settings, reopen it and add the portal again. Check for a firmware update too, since older builds struggle with large channel lists.

The portal stopped after changing the router

The MAC belongs to the box, not the router, so a new router should make no difference to activation. Check the box shows a network connection in its settings, restart it, and confirm your plan is still active.

The picture freezes on busy evenings

Wire the box to the router if you have not already; these units are at their best on Ethernet. If freezes continue on a cable at peak times only, your ISP may be managing video traffic, and a VPN on the router, or a VPN app on a Formuler, is one way to find out.

Keeping your login to yourself

The server address, username and password you have just typed in are your whole account, so treat them the way you would a banking password. Leave them out of screenshots, family group chats and forum posts, and if you send support a photo of the screen, cover the password field first. If you suspect your details have been shared around, ask support on WhatsApp to change the password on your line. Where you want your internet provider or a public network kept out of your viewing, the player works over the common VPN apps; connect to a nearby server before opening it.

Players we suggest for this hardware

Try it on your MAG and Formuler box before you pay

The trial asks for a WhatsApp number and nothing else. Paid plans begin at $15 a month for all 25,000+ channels, with the login sent in under 15 minutes.

What people ask about MAG and Formuler box and MYTIVIFLIX

Is a MAG box a better choice than a Firestick?

For a main television used every day, often yes: a better remote, a quicker guide, nothing to sideload and no advertising layer. Expect to pay $120 to $180 for the box, compared with $30 to $50 for a stick. For a spare room the stick is better value.

Why does the MAC address matter for privacy?

On a MAG the MAC is what identifies your subscription to the portal, much like a username. Keep it between you and support, and avoid posting photos of the label or the device information screen online.

What should I do before selling a MAG or Formuler box?

Ask support to deactivate the MAC on our side, so the next owner cannot load your subscription. Then remove the portal from the settings and use the reset option in the system menu. On a Formuler, also delete the MyTVOnline profiles and run a factory reset from the Android settings.

Can these boxes use a VPN?

Formuler boxes run Android, so VPN apps can usually be installed. MAG boxes have no VPN client, so if you need one for that television, configure it on your router instead.

MyTVOnline or TiViMate on a Formuler?

MyTVOnline is built for the Formuler remote and handles the portal method natively, so it is the natural default. TiViMate offers a more flexible guide, plus recording with Premium. Both work; start with MyTVOnline because nothing extra needs installing.

Should the box use Wi-Fi or Ethernet?

Ethernet whenever you can. These boxes are designed around a wired connection, and a cable removes the most common cause of dropouts in one go. Where running a cable is impossible, a powerline adapter is usually steadier than a weak wireless signal.

Do I need to send the MAC again if I move house?

No. Activation follows the box rather than your address or internet provider, so it works on any connection once plugged in. You only need to contact support if you replace the box itself, because a new unit arrives with a new MAC.
