Installing and signing in
Open Apps from the Home bar
Press the Home button on the remote and move along to Apps. The magnifying glass near the top of that screen opens search. If the TV asks you to sign in, use your Samsung account; the store does not install anything anonymously. You do not need to accept optional marketing messages to get past this screen.
Pick IPTV Smarters or Smart IPTV
IPTV Smarters is free and uses an ordinary login form. Smart IPTV charges a small one-time fee per television after a trial, runs lighter on older sets and receives its playlist through a website rather than an on-screen form. If your TV is more than five or six years old, Smart IPTV tends to feel quicker. Install whichever suits and open it once so it finishes setting up.
Log in with Smarters
Choose Login with Xtream Codes, then enter your username, password and the server URL including http:// and the port. The on-screen keyboard is slow and easy to mistype with, so a USB keyboard plugged into the TV saves time if you have one lying around. The profile name is just a label and does not need to identify you or your household.
Or send the M3U link to Smart IPTV
Smart IPTV displays the MAC address of the television as soon as it opens. On your phone or laptop, go to siptv.app/mylist, type that MAC exactly, paste your M3U link and send it. Do this on your own device and home connection rather than a shared or work computer, because the link contains your username and password inside the address.
Restart the app and let channels load
Exit the app completely and launch it again. The channel list and programme guide then load from your account. On remotes that have a channel list button, that is the quickest way to jump between groups; on the slimmer Smart Remote, the directional pad and the guide screen do the same job.
Switch off Viewing Information Services
Samsung sets include automatic content recognition, which identifies what is playing and shares it for recommendations and advertising. To stop it, open Settings, then General (or General and Privacy on newer menus), then Terms and Privacy, then Privacy Choices where that level exists, and turn off Viewing Information Services. Interest-Based Advertisement sits in the same area. Neither setting affects IPTV playback in any way.
If you need a VPN, put it on the router
Tizen has no built-in VPN client and mainstream VPN apps are not offered in the Samsung store, so the television cannot run one directly. The workable option is a router or travel router with VPN support, which covers every device on that network, the TV included. Most home setups never need this. It is mainly useful where your ISP throttles video at peak hours.
Known problems and what fixes them
The player is not listed in my country
Samsung curates its store by region, so what you see varies. IPTV Smarters is available in most markets. Changing the TV region to find a missing app can wipe settings and is not permitted on some newer sets, so message support first and we will suggest an alternative that is listed where you live.
Smart IPTV shows a playlist expired message
That message is about the app, not your MYTIVIFLIX plan. A reinstall or TV reset clears the stored playlist, so send your M3U link again at siptv.app/mylist against the same MAC address and restart the app.
Channels load but some refuse to play
Samsung decoders cover most formats, not all of them. Try the HD or SD copy of the same channel first. In Smarters, look in the player settings for an alternative player option before assuming the stream itself is down.
The app freezes on an older television
Tizen sets from 2016 to 2018 have limited memory. Hide channel groups you never use so the list is smaller, close other apps, and consider Smart IPTV, which is noticeably lighter on that generation of hardware.
Everything slows down after adding a router VPN
Encrypting all household traffic is hard work for some routers. Choose a nearer VPN server, or use split tunnelling if your router offers it, so only the television goes through the VPN and everything else uses the normal connection.
A firmware update brought the privacy questions back
Updates sometimes present the privacy notices again. Read what is being asked: the optional items, such as viewing information and interest-based ads, can be declined a second time without affecting any apps.
Keeping your login to yourself
The server address, username and password you have just typed in are your whole account, so treat them the way you would a banking password. Leave them out of screenshots, family group chats and forum posts, and if you send support a photo of the screen, cover the password field first. If you suspect your details have been shared around, ask support on WhatsApp to change the password on your line. Where you want your internet provider or a public network kept out of your viewing, the player works over the common VPN apps; connect to a nearby server before opening it.

Do I need a Firestick for a Samsung TV?
No. Samsung models from 2016 onwards install IPTV Smarters or Smart IPTV directly from the built-in store. A stick only makes sense for older sets, or if you specifically want TiViMate, which does not exist for Tizen.
Is Smart IPTV free on Samsung?
It offers a seven-day trial and then asks for a one-time activation fee for that particular TV, paid to the app developer rather than to us. Smarters has no equivalent charge. Neither app contains channels; both need a subscription behind them.
Can Samsung see what I watch through an IPTV app?
Viewing Information Services can recognise content on screen whatever the source, which is exactly why switching it off is worthwhile. Once it is disabled, the TV stops that recognition. The player app has its own privacy terms, linked from its store listing.
What should I clear before selling a Samsung TV?
Delete the player profile or uninstall the app, sign out of your Samsung account, then run Reset from the General or General and Privacy menu; the reset PIN is 0000 unless you changed it. If you used Smart IPTV, ask support for a new password, which makes the playlist still paired with that MAC useless.
Can I stop other people in the house opening the IPTV app?
On most recent Samsung models, the Apps screen has a settings cog that lets you lock individual apps behind the television PIN. Locked apps ask for the code before they open, which keeps the player, and the account inside it, away from children and guests without uninstalling anything or signing out.
